Whilst searching the web to see if our future headliners Faithless had been to our splendid town of Luton before, we started to uncover not only that they had, but also a whole list of other incredible acts had once performed here too!
Way back in the late 90’s a festival popped up called Tribal Gathering, held on the grounds at Luton Hoo Estate in the summer, between 25,000 – 35,000 ravers would descend on the event who bought in acts such as (Wait for it):….
The Chemical Brothers
Felix da Housecat
Masters At Work
Whilst it’s unlikely an event of this magnitude will happen in that location again, we can still be excited to bring in one act off the epic list this Easter, as we celebrate 5 Years Of Taste The Punch on Good Friday at Carnival Arts, Luton.
If you were one of the lucky ones and managed attend Tribal Gathering feel free to let us know all about on twitter

Chief amongst the new names to be announced is the legendary DJ Sneak. A larger than life character who was part of the early Chicago scene, his label I’m A House Gangster is behind many seminal house anthems, and the man himself has had many hits over the years, from ‘You Can’t Hide From Your Bud’ to more recent efforts like ‘Just Play The Music.’ He still lays it down like no other all over the world and plays Taste The Punch on 8th September.
Next up is Chus & Ceballos, the taste making tech house duo behind the hugely influential Stereo Productions label who play on August 25th and September 22nd. The prominent pair publish their own weekly radio show and podcast as well as DJing around the world from BPM to the WMC, and as well as solo tunes they also link with big stars like Prok & Fitch, who themselves play on August 4th and September 29th. The UK pair release on labels like Toolroom and Suara and count floor wreckers like ‘Pitch Roll’ and ‘Double Vision’ amongst their arsenal of tunes.
On July 14th, UK bass house man Riton is in town and will bring with him hits like ‘Rinse & Repeat’ and ‘Betta Riddim’ real dancefloor slayers, as are his big remixes of Disclosure and Frances. Another UK outfit, Camelphat currently riding high with the ‘Hangin With Charlie’ EP on the legendary Relief Records, then lines up on September 22nd.
Fans of German pair and scene veterans Format: B then need to put September 29th in the diary. The Formatik Records bosses will roll into town with their funk driven tech house sounds and driving drums and are sure to get people in a spin.
On June 30th, August 18th and September 1st, Hauswerks will join those already announced. In recent times this house sensation has released with or for ViVa Music Ltd, Moda Black, Groove Armada, Secondcity and Doorlyand knows how to cook up some truly slinky grooves. Meanwhile, July 28th will bring Toyboy & Robin—a relatively new but high impact house duo from labels like Sccucci Manucci—and then on August 18th Abode London Resident and Reprezent Radio host Ellie Cocks joins the fun.
Danish DJ and production machine Christian Nielsen is the new name added to the June 30th party and is known for his fresh and modern deep house on labels like Dance Club, Play It Down and Glasgow Underground. Elsewhere, award winning Dublin DJ and FM104 host Al Gibbs plays on August 4th, Too Tall plays twice in both August and September and Taste The Punch residents and able house selectors Nigel Clarke and Paul Malcolm complete the line-up for the closing party on September 29th.
In just four years, Taste The Punch has established itself as one of the most authentic party experiences in the UK. Founded by a pair of brothers in Luton, guests like Pete Tong, Claptone, Annie Mac and B. Traits all headlined the party which last year went on to host their own stage at Eastern Electrics. This first Ibiza season is sure to find them bring something new and fresh to the island, as well as legions of hardcore regulars who know exactly what the brand stands for.
Taste The Punch bring ‘the punchbowl’ to Ibiza and with the new additions announced today, this is shaping up to be one of the most talked about new parties on the White Isle this summer.

The lead track on her new EP, ‘Tresor’, has been building up a steady amount of steam since she teased us all with a video of her playing it. That video has now amassed over 125,000 plays and we’re thrilled to bring you the full release.

Just 4 years ago, 2 brothers decided they would recreate the vibes of London’s hottest raves and secret parties, 30 minutes north of the capital, in Luton. Since then, Taste The Punch has become one of the country’s best underground dance events, welcoming such luminaries as Pete Tong, B Traits, Claptone, Annie Mac, Amine Edge & DANCE, Mark Knight, Darius Syrossian and many more to ‘the punchbowl’ turntables. Last year saw Taste The Punch hit new heights as they hosted a stage at Eastern Electrics Festival. The unstoppable upward trajectory continues with their first Ibiza residency, where Taste The Punch will expand their horizons again, booking a wider range of must-see acts for the very first time.
Taste The Punch co-promoter, Dean Shields comments, “When this opportunity came along we didn’t have to think twice about throwing our heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears into being a part of Eden for summer 2017. The island is changing, and we know that this summer, Eden is returning to its rightful prestigious place at the core of Ibiza’s nightlife, bringing in the right brands that can deliver high quality lineups. We’re bringing something fresh to Ibiza and our ethos is simple; we want to offer an incredible experience to anyone and everyone that comes to Taste The Punch.”
Faithless need little introduction, selling over 15 million records worldwide, giving electronic music some of its finest moments with tracks like ‘Insomnia’, ‘God Is A DJ’ and ‘We Come 1’. Over 20 years they’ve delivered consistently, whether on stage or behind the decks with Sister Bliss, and are a fitting name to kick off Taste The Punch’s Ibiza announcement. Expect 3 massive sets at Eden this season.
Mark Knight remains one of house music’s most influential names (his Toolroom Radio show now reaches over 13.5 million people in over 60 countries). The Toolroom Records boss is one of the scene’s most accomplished producers and his innate ability to rock any dancefloor has seen him become a firm favourite of the Taste The Punch crowds. Mark Knight behind the turntables at Eden is a guaranteed Ibiza classic.
Another Toolroom and Taste The Punch regular, Weiss also joins the Eden lineup. Expect quality, jackin’ beats and rumbling basslines to shake the island as Weiss shows why he’s one of the biggest new names out there, with support from the likes of Pete Tong, Claptone, Gorgon City, Claude Von Stroke, Hot Since 82 and more.
Taste The Punch continues to mix up the massive names with the rising stars as they bring Lee Walker to the white isle. His massive rework of DJ Deeon ‘Freak Like Me’ remains a true house anthem. Liverpool’s Lauren Lo Sung also lines up; a proven new talent at Carl Cox’s Revolution party at Space Ibiza, The Warehouse Project, Sankeys Ibiza, Bedrock and more. Icarus is the name on everyone’s lips right now. The Bristolian duo recently scored the ‘hottest record in the world’ on Radio 1 with their stunning edit of Arle ‘Close To You’ and again with their original track ‘King Kong’. George Kwali also joins the lineup with his Kideko collab ‘Crank It’ still ranking as one of biggest house tunes around.
Taste The Punch loves to mix it up and brings a selection of highly rated and experienced names to ‘the Ibiza punchbowl’. Monki is one of the most talented and versatile DJs currently on BBC Radio 1. Her eclectic, high energy mix of styles – everything with a groove, is perfect for the open-minded Taste The Punch crowds. House legend Marshall Jefferson will take over for an exclusive gig, his only confirmed Ibiza date so far this season! House fans should not miss the chance to see one of the originators of house music in action.
